Lutheran Health Physicians Welcomes 8 New Providers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 17, 2020) - Eight providers specializing in the areas of family medicine, internal medicine, trauma surgery and neurology are the most recent to join the Lutheran Health Physicians team.

Shawn Kidder, DO, FAAFP, is a board-certified primary care physician who provides preventive care to men, women and children of all ages. He also treats various chronic and acute illnesses.
Dr. Kidder joined Lutheran Health Physicians after serving as a family medicine physician in Auburn, Indiana, for over 20 years, specializing in osteopathic manipulation, joint injections, skin biopsy, skin cryosurgery, women’s health and general preventative and wellness care.

Wen-Chou Tang, M.D., is a board-certified primary care physician who provides preventive care to men, women and children of all ages. He also treats various chronic and acute illnesses. Dr. Tang joined Lutheran Health Physicians in June 2020 after providing patient care as a family medicine physician at Girard Medical Centers in Kansas.

Billie Becker, N.P., is an internal medicine nurse practitioner specializing in preventing, diagnosing and treating nonsurgical conditions and diseases that affect adults, including simple to complex conditions. Prior to joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Becker was a registered nurse in Dupont Hospital's Post-Anesthesia Care Unit for ten years.

Lyndi Davis, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner who provides preventive care for men, women and children of all ages. She also treats various chronic and acute illnesses. Davis joined Lutheran Health Physicians after working as a registered nurse in a cardiovascular intensive care setting at Lutheran Hospital, where she provided care to critically ill post-operative cardiovascular patients on a ventilator and multiple medications.

Nathan Nicola, N.P., is a family nurse practitioner who provides preventive and chronic care for men, women and children of all ages. He also treats various chronic and acute illnesses. Before joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Nicola served as a registered nurse in the medical intensive care unit at The Toledo Hospital. During that time, he obtained additional certification as a critical care registered nurse.

Regina Bendler, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant who treats patients with severe, life-threatening blunt force and penetrating injuries. As a member of the Lutheran Health Physicians trauma surgery team, Bendler assists surgeons as they operate on patients who are critically injured and oftentimes suffering from multiple injuries to the colon, pancreas, spleen and/or stomach. Prior to joining LHP, Bendler served as a certified physician assistant with Valley Emergency Physicians in Los Angeles.

Jennifer Born, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant specializing in treating neurology patients who experience disorders of the nerves and nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. She completed her undergraduate work at Indiana University in Fort Wayne, graduating with her bachelor's degree in modern foreign languages with a concentration in Spanish. Born earned both her master of science in public health and physician assistant studies from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania, in 2006. She brings several years of experience as a physician assistant to Lutheran Health Physicians, with her most recent role in an endocrinology setting where she assisted in the management of panhypopituitarism and other hormonal disorders as well as provided ongoing diabetes education and preventative care. Board-certified, she serves as a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants and the American Academy of Nephrology Physician Assistants.

As a member of the Lutheran Health Physicians trauma surgery team, Sabol assists surgeons as they operate on patients who are critically injured and oftentimes suffering from multiple injuries to the colon, pancreas, spleen and/or stomach. Prior to joining LHP, Sabol served as a general surgery/surgical oncology physician assistant with Amita St. Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois, where she provided care for general surgery, bariatric, breast and trauma patients.
