Lutheran Health Network Keeps the Holiday Spirit Alive with a Contribution to The Rescue Mission
2/2/2015
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Feb. 3, 2015) - Even though the most recent holiday season is getting smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, Lutheran Health Network associates are doing their part to inspire others to sustain a spirit of generosity year-round.
In lieu of a holiday gift, Lutheran Health Network employees at facilities in Allen County were given the option of designating the monetary value of a fleece jacket to a charitable contribution. The Rescue Mission was identified as this year's beneficiary, and more than 900 LHN staffers chose to forego their personal gift. Several will gather at The Rescue Mission, 301 W. Superior St., at 1 p.m. Wednesday to present a ceremonial check for $14,000 to representatives of the local organization that, among other services, provides restorative care to men, women and children experiencing a homeless crisis.
Media are invited to attend the brief event. Leaders from The Rescue Mission will be available for interviews.
Please contact Laurie Brumbaugh, major gifts officer, The Rescue Mission, at laurieb@therescuemission.net or 438-0802, to learn more about the donation process.
