Dupont Hospital Expands Urology Surgical Technology

Urologist Colin Linke, D.O., provides minimally invasive robotic assisted surgery
Dupont Hospital has expanded minimally invasive robotic surgery technology with the acquisition of a single-port robotic surgical system designed for surgery through one incision. Urologist Colin Linke, D.O., treats cancerous and non-cancerous conditions of the prostate and kidney using this system.
The technology has intuitive motion and an ergonomic design, giving the surgeon more control as the robotic system translates hand movements into the instruments’ smaller movements. It enables the surgeon to perform some urologic surgeries less invasively, apply new surgical techniques, and
extend additional surgical options to patients.
“We can further minimize surgical site incisions using this new single port technology. My patient’s recovery process can be improved through reduced rehabilitation time, pain and post-operative complications because of less functional deterioration and disruption at the surgical site which ultimately can improve outcomes,” said Dr. Linke.
“We are pleased to expand our technology and techniques for urology care and, with Dr. Linke’s proficiency, this advancement positively impacts recovery times,” said Brent Parsons, chief executive officer at Dupont Hospital. “We will continue to invest in technologies that support the community’s
needs as well as the overall patient experience.”
