Bluffton Regional Welcomes General Surgeon, Michael Thorpe, M.D.

Bluffton Regional Medical Center welcomes Michael Thorpe, M.D., a board-certified general surgeon trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques to their team. Dr. Thorpe will provide surgical treatment for conditions affecting the breast, colon, skin, soft tissues, digestive tract and vascular system. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the abdomen.
Outside of the office, Dr. Thorpe is a father of seven, six girls and one boy. He enjoys taking care of chickens and honeybees on his property as well as hunting.

Dr. Thorpe received a medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio. He received residence training at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed his fellowship training for minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, at St. Johns Providence Health in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
