8 providers latest to join Lutheran Health Physicians

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Oct. 2, 2018) - Providers specializing in the areas of pulmonology, cardiology, heart transplantation, family medicine, gastroenterology and trauma surgery are the most recent to join the Lutheran Health Physicians team.
Dedrick Bowe, M.D., is a physician on the LHP pulmonology team. He treats patients with diseases of the lungs and bronchial tubes, including the upper respiratory tract, and the heart.
Dr. Bowe graduated with a medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. He completed an internal medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, and a pulmonary critical care fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Bowe has experience in pulmonary subspecialty clinics including sarcoidosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung nodules/lung cancer and cystic fibrosis. He has been published in medical journals and given several presentations on pulmonary critical care topics.
Dr. Bowe, who is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Physicians and the Junior Doctor's Association of the Bahamas.
His office is located in the medical office building on the St. Joseph Hospital campus, 800 Broadway, Suite 204.
Muzammil Musani, M.D., is a fellowship-trained cardiologist on the LHP cardiology team. He examines, diagnoses and treats patients with heart disorders that can be managed by medication and lifestyle changes. He has extensive experience in both invasive and noninvasive cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Musani completed his medical education at Sind Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.
Dr. Musani recently completed interventional cardiology, advanced cardiovascular imaging, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowships at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York. He's contributed to several articles published in medical journals covering topics including cardiac imaging and chest pain. He has also authored a book in the field of cardiovascular CT.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, cardiac CT, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. His office is located at 7916 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus.
Robert Piasecki, D.O., is a pulmonologist who treats patients with symptoms that frequently include shortness of breath, wheezing, chest pain or persistent cough. He is trained in minimally invasive treatments of airway disease.
Dr. Piasecki earned his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at the Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center.
Coming to LHP from Michigan, Dr. Piasecki has more than 20 years of pulmonology experience. Most recently, he worked as the president, medical director and owner of Michiana Sleep & Pulmonary Associates in Saint Joseph and Niles, Michigan.
Dr. Piasecki is board certified in internal medicine, medical diseases of the chest and sleep medicine. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Piasecki is based at 7916 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus.
Deborah Gill-Henry, N.P., joined the Lutheran Health Physicians heart transplantation team after working as a clinical manager in a progressive heart failure unit in Fort Wayne. She also provided care as a PRN diagnosing and treating patients with common illnesses and minor injuries. Previously, she worked on the surgery team at Lutheran Hospital for 12 years before pursuing her nurse practitioner certification.
Gill-Henry earned her associate degree in nursing from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne where she also earned her master's degree and nurse practitioner certification. Most recently, she worked as nurse practitioner team leader on a congestive heart failure unit collaborating with a team of pharmacists, social workers, nurse educators, unit nurses and cardiologists.
Gill-Henry cares for patients who do not respond to medical and surgical therapies and are eligible for a heart transplant. She also assists in surgeries for patients in need of pacemakers, coronary artery bypass grafts and heart valves. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana.

Brentt VanSickle, N.P., is a primary care provider who cares for men, women and children of all ages. VanSickle provides multiple types of services including preventive and chronic care. He also treats various acute illnesses.
VanSickle earned his bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University in Kokomo. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and nurse practitioner certification in 2018.
VanSickle has experience as a registered nurse in the cardiovascular critical care unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and in the surgery department of Logansport Memorial Hospital in Logansport, Indiana. He also worked in the emergency department at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana.
VanSickle is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. His practice is located at 1000 N. Broadway in Peru, Indiana.
Kersten Weigle, N.P., is a nurse practitioner who treats patients with digestive disorders that can have a drastic effect on quality of life. She diagnoses and treats patients suffering from conditions including liver disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux.
Weigle graduated from Bowling Green State University, earning a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communication. She earned her master's degree in nursing from the College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.
Weigle has nursing experience in the coronary ICU and cardiovascular specialty unit in hospitals in Fort Wayne and Columbus, Ohio, respectively. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board.
Weigle is a member of the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana. She is based out of Suite 201 of Medical Office Building One, 7900 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus.
Samantha Jensen, P.A., is a physician assistant who assists in treating patients with severe, life-threatening blunt force and penetrating injuries. As a member of Lutheran Health Physicians trauma surgery team, Jensen assists surgeons as they operate on patients who are critically injured and often suffering from multiple injuries to the colon, pancreas and/or stomach.
Jensen completed her bachelor's degree in health science at Butler University in Indianapolis in 2017. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Butler and her physician assistant certification in 2018. Jensen was active at Butler including participation in groups such as the Physician Assistant Club and Physician Assistant Student Ambassadors. She also was on the track and field team.
Jensen is based out of suite 306 of Medical Office Building One, 7900 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus.
Tina Leavell, P.A., is a family medicine physician assistant who provides multiple types of services including preventive and chronic care. She cares for men, women and children of all ages. Leavell also treats various acute illnesses.
Leavell earned her undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. In 2004, she earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Saint Francis. During the year of her graduation, she earned the Clinical Year Excellence Award in Physician Assistant Studies, a top student award at USF.
Leavell began working as a physician assistant in 2004 with a primary care private practice in Auburn. In 20011, she joined DeKalb Health Medical Group and worked there for eight years. Prior to arriving at Lutheran Health Physicians, she briefly worked for Credo Family Medicine in Fort Wayne.
Leavell serves on the executive board for St. Martin's Healthcare in Garrett, Indiana, and is the co-medical director of Women's Care Center in Auburn, Indiana. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants.
Leavell's office is located at 2516 E. Dupont Road, on the Dupont Hospital campus.
