Lutheran Health Network-sponsored campaign observed in May
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (May 2, 2016) - Volunteers from the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer will visit the campuses of Dupont, Lutheran and St. Joseph hospitals Wednesday, May 4, to place between 150 and 200 pink ribbons in support of this year's "Turn the Town Pink" campaign.
Turn the Town Pink is an annual effort to raise awareness and funds to help combat breast cancer through research. Lutheran Health Network has participated as the primary Turn the Town Pink campaign sponsor every year since 2008, a commitment it made after nearly a decade of sponsoring the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic.
A ceremony to recognize the 2016 campaign will happen Friday, May 6, on the plaza at Indiana Michigan Power Center in downtown Fort Wayne. Breast cancer survivors, representatives from Lutheran Health Network, foundation volunteers, and other special guests will participate. The public is invited to attend the brief event that begins at noon.
The placing of pink ribbons adorned with the names of honorees throughout the city is just one of multiple activities leading up to the 23rd annual Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic, June 3 - 6.
The third edition of the Three Rivers Running Company's Pink Ribbon Run will again take place on the Lutheran Hospital campus Saturday, May 14. The 2016 Pink Ribbon Run will begin at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the four-mile run and two-mile walk will be given to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. This event is sponsored in part by Lutheran Health Network. Visit http://raceroster.com/events/2016/7514/2016-pink-ribbon-run to learn more.
