Amy Hyduk and Jennifer McComb honored
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015) - Lutheran Health Network today announced that two of its pharmacists recently received statewide awards during the Indiana Pharmacists Annual Convention and Expo in French Lick, Ind.
Amy Hyduk, PharmD, director of pharmacy services, Lutheran Health Network, received the "Glen Sperandio Hospital Pharmacist of the Year" award from the Indiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists, an academy of the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance. Given annually to a practicing health-system pharmacist, the society recognizes Hyduk's superior achievement and services. This award is the highest honor that ISHP bestows to a practicing pharmacist within the state, and it reflects favorably upon the recipient's employer and coworkers, according to a statement released by the IPA.
Jennifer McComb, PharmD, transplant pharmacist and residency program associate director, Lutheran Hospital, was given Purdue University's "Glen J. Sperandio Award for Advancement of Pharmacy Practice." The award recognizes a licensed pharmacist with a minimum of 10 years of service to the profession who is an alumna/alumnus of Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Recipients also successfully assist students or practicing pharmacists in career advancement, and demonstrate innovation in the practice of pharmacy. Each year an inscribed plaque is presented to the recipient, and the recipient's name is placed on a permanent plaque in the pharmacy building at Purdue University in West Lafayette.
The awards were presented to Hyduk and McComb Sept. 17.
Hyduk graduated from Butler University with her doctorate in pharmacy in 2004, and from Indiana Wesleyan University with her MBA with a healthcare management endorsement in 2007.
McComb graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette with her doctor of pharmacy degree in 1994. In 1995, she completed an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency at Indiana University Medical Center, in Indianapolis, Ind., with a focus on infectious disease.
