Bluffton Regional Medical Center Achieves Recognition as one of Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ Recipients for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Bluffton, Ind. – Bluffton Regional Medical Center has been named one of a select group of hospitals identified as providing outstanding performance in the delivery of a positive experience for patients during their hospital stay, as measured by Healthgrades, the leading online resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals. This year marks the fourth consecutive year Bluffton Regional has been recognized with this award. The local hospital is one of only 10 in Indiana and only 136 in the entire nation to receive this recognition for each of the past four years.

To be eligible for the Healthgrades 2013 Outstanding Patient Experience Award, Bluffton Regional had to meet objective clinical standards established by Healthgrades. Additionally, the hospital must have participated in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey process and surveyed a high enough number of patients to reliably assess performance, also as determined by HealthGrades.

“I am honored and humbled to accept this honor on behalf of the physicians, caregivers, and support staff at Bluffton Regional Medical Center that makes excellent patient experiences possible,” said Aaron Garofola, Bluffton Regional CEO. “This recognition – which is based both on our patients’ perceptions and independent external assessment – confirms that the care given at Bluffton Regional is among the best in the nation. The fact that we have received the award for the fourth consecutive year demonstrates the ongoing commitment of our team to serving our community.”

“As hospitals continue to struggle with the delivery of high-quality, safe care in the face of mounting financial and regulatory pressures, the hospitals who have achieved Healthgrades 2013 Outstanding Patient Experience Award stand above the rest in terms of providing the most positive experience for patients during their hospital stay,” said Evan Marks, EVP Informatics and Strategy at Healthgrades. “This exceptional performance reflects a commitment to superior quality of clinical care.”
