Santa Arrives in Style for an Early Visit to Patients at Lutheran Children’s Hospital

Santa to be escorted courtesy of the Southwest Fire Department

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013) – On Thursday, Dec. 12, Santa Claus will make a special appearance for willing and able patients receiving care at Lutheran Children’s Hospital, but he will arrive in an unusual fashion—by fire truck. Firefighters from the Southwest Fire Department will escort Santa at 2:30 p.m. to the South Lobby entrance of Lutheran Hospital.

Shortly after his festive arrival on campus, Santa will be whisked upstairs to visit both outpatient and inpatient pediatric units.

Media are invited to capture the moments shared between Santa and patients. Free parking is available in the south parking garage across from the Lutheran Cancer Center.

ER wait times are door to clinical professional and can change quickly depending on the urgency of patients that arrive by ambulance. Lutheran Health Network provides care to patients with life-threatening illnesses first.

Because our ER and Urgent Care staffs must treat patients based on the severity of illness or injury, your time is not guaranteed. We will see you as close to your designated time as possible. If your symptoms worsen or you believe you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department as soon as possible.

Patient results may vary. Consult your physician about the benefits and risks of any surgical procedure or treatment.
