Lutheran Health Network is excited to share an update about the design work that has been taking place over the past few months for Lutheran Downtown Hospital.

The architects have finalized the hospital's exterior design to create a modern, healing environment in downtown Fort Wayne. As you look at the rendering, we hope you’ll agree that this building will be a great addition to the community.

The hospital will be five stories high and approximately 188,000 square feet. It will open with 60 beds and we have the ability to grow to 100 beds to meet community needs. Building upon the initial conceptual design, the updated design features several enhancements - additional windows for increased natural light and a more textured and aesthetically pleasing façade that includes a mix of brick, stone, metal panels and an exterior insulation finish system, or EIFS.

Although there may be minor tweaks as the project is completed, this rendering closely depicts how the hospital will look when construction is completed in late 2021. Interior design is now underway. A groundbreaking ceremony for Lutheran Downtown is anticipated this summer. The new hospital will be situated at the southwest corner of Main and Van Buren.
