Lutheran helping resolutions to lose weight spring back to life March 21
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (March 6, 2018) – How many New Year’s resolutions to lose weight are derailed by winter weather that’s better suited for hibernation than beginning a regimen of healthy eating and increased physical activity? That’s why the Lutheran Weight Management Center team is taking the second day of spring to help the community pump new life into its healthy intentions. Two open houses are scheduled for March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Those who attend either free session can receive a personalized metabolic profile, tour the facility and meet staff including a registered dietitian and an exercise specialist. Topics of discussion will include simple food choice changes and the impact of portion control.
Dale Sloan, MD, surgical medical director of the Lutheran Bariatric Center, and David Lippie, MD, who performs the non-surgical dual intragastric balloon procedure, will also be available to answer questions about these options from 5 to 6 p.m.
“We find that many people simply want to speak with a live human being to better understand what options are available and which of them might make more sense for their unique situation,” said Chris Rich, RN, manager of Lutheran’s bariatric and weight management centers. This is a relaxed, no-obligation opportunity to explore the possibilities and learn how our medically supervised and surgical programs can help lead to lasting results.”
As an added benefit, an Optifast® representative will also be there with product samples that feature unique flavors, decreased sugar and increased protein. Optifast products have been offered through the Lutheran Weight Management Center for more than a decade.
The Lutheran Weight Management Center is located at the back corner of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, 7970 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus. Attendees are asked to enter door #4. Questions about the open house should be directed to (260) 435-7844, option 1.
