Lutheran Children’s Hospital, FWFD and FWCS remind walkers and drivers to avoid distractions through Kids dart. Drive smart.

WHAT: Lutheran Children’s Hospital and the Lutheran Trauma Center is ready to launch the 2017 Kids dart. Drive smart. campaign. The public is welcome to pick up a free yard sign to promote child pedestrian safety. In addition, some of the children featured in the campaign will be autographing the yard signs.

WHO: Representatives from Lutheran Hospital’s verified Level II adult and pediatric trauma centers, Lutheran Children’s Hospital and the Fort Wayne Fire Department – as well as Price Elementary School Principal Ben Hartman, Fort Wayne Community Schools

WHEN: noon, Monday, July 24, 2017

WHERE: Price Elementary
1901 W. State Blvd.

WHY: 80 percent of drivers admit to being distracted. About 900 children are killed each year from pedestrian-vehicle accidents. These injuries can be avoided. Encourage safety by reminding walkers and drivers to stay alert and to eliminate distractions.
